On court we are not always choosing the right foot position for a good start to reach the next shuttle. In order to correct the position and have an efficient start you need to be able to reposition your feet and turn your hip in a very short time. In this session we are going to focus on these small fast steps and corrections:
Exercises like the ones I show in the video are great of increasing the quickness for those situations. I would also suggest to implement them into your on court training, ideally after the warm in the beginning of your session, when you are still able to give 100% tempo.
Important:
Please be careful with your equipment if you work out at home and check if there is enough space when you do the racketswings! I am very lucky to have a high ceiling at home, so overheadshots are no problem. If you have not enough space above you, you can also do the overheadexercises on your knees (except the one where you give the racket between your legs) The effect will almost be the same or it can sometimes even help to focus more on the arm movement when the hip and legs cannot move.
